Starting the Day in Dupont Circle
We kicked things off at The Sonesta Hotel in Dupont Circle, a cozy and stylish spot right in the heart of DC. With cherry blossom season in full swing, the city was buzzing — but I carefully planned a route to keep us away from the crowds. We wandered just a few blocks from the hotel, capturing romantic, cinematic footage along quiet streets lined with classic DC architecture and hints of spring color.
One of the things I loved most about this day? A & E trusted me completely. From location suggestions to timing, they let me guide the flow of the day so they could relax and soak it all in.
A Garden Ceremony at the National Cathedral
After our downtown adventure, we made our way to the Washington National Cathedral, where A & E’s closest family members were waiting. Their ceremony took place in the Bishop’s Garden, a stunning and peaceful spot that feels like a hidden oasis in the city.
Surrounded by ivy-covered stone, blooming gardens, and the quiet grandeur of the cathedral, they exchanged vows in front of their parents and siblings. It was intimate, emotional, and full of so much love — the kind of moment that makes me fall in love with elopements all over again.
